| Description |
The Metropoolregio Rotterdam – The Hague (MRDH) in cooperation with the Province of South-Holland and the Economic Programme Board Zuidvleugel develops an investment program before the summer of 2016. This program is a coherent and feasible investment packages aimed at the strengthening of the economic climate and make better use of the agglomeration and synergies of the region. At the time it builds a coalition of partners for the Roadmap Next Economy (RNE) to develop Automated Transport and become an important opportunity for the transition to the next economy of the region. MRDH offers the municipalities that see automated transport as a solution for their last mile challenges the opportunity to profile themselves clearly in the investment program. This is the reason for the development of a coherent investment package surrounding the AVLM theme.

| Approach |
Six potential AVLM locations in Capelle aan den IJssel Rivium (ParkShuttle), Schiedam, Rijswijk Plaspoelpolder, Den Haag Binckhorst, Rotterdam-The Hague Airport, TU Delf – Station Delft-Zuid, and Leiden BioScience Park where identified and brought together to build the investment package for AVLM. Support was given to build their business cases. Furthermore, the concept of a Fieldlab AVLM for the region as developed and a business plan built. The establishment of a ResearchLab at the TU Delft was also developed and included in the investment package. The overall turn-round for the project was with 3 months very short for such an endeavour.
