Automated Mobility for Elderly

Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg
Project management

1. Execute feasibility study on the possibilities of automated mobility solutions to ensure and empower elderly to travel within the municipality.

2. Develop a pilot to gain first hand experience with automated mobility solutions for the elderly.

The municipality is part of the Fieldlab Automated Transport of the Metropolitan region of Rotterdam The Hague (MRDH). As such, Leidschendam-Voorburg has designated the mobility of elderly as a key focus point. Smart mobility is seen as a key element in the smart city programme of the municipality and therefore has decided to assess the feasibility of a automated mobility pilot.

The municipality seeks close cooperation with the development of the Mall of the Netherlands, the Metropolitan region of Rotterdam The Hague (MRDH), the Research Lab Automated Driving Delft (RADD), and local, regional and international stakeholders.
